Meet Dr. David Lairmore
David A. Lairmore, MD, DDS
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, I am dedicated to providing the best possible treatment and outcome for every single one of my patients.
That requires me to listen to each person, so I understand his or her needs and concerns, and incorporate that information into the treatment plan. By blending my years of experience and knowledge of the latest techniques with a personalized approach to care, I strive to deliver the ideal experience and results.
My greatest professional and personal satisfaction comes when I am able to significantly improve the health, well-being, and happiness of my patient. That is my goal, with each person I have the honor to treat.
Education and Experience
Prior to practicing oral surgery, I completed the following:
- Bachelor of Science in biology – Baylor University
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – Baylor College of Dentistry
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) – University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine
- Residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery – University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital
I was drawn to the oral and maxillofacial surgery specialty because the facial skeleton, maxilla, and mandible are the most complex and notable parts of the human body. By correcting issues for patients, I am able to give them a better quality of life: reduced or no pain, the ability to eat the foods they enjoy, and a healthier and happier feeling and appearance.
Since 1992, I have limited my practice to oral surgery and strived to provide each patient with the best experience and results. That dedication is shared by my staff. My team members truly care about the well-being of each and every patient. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and ready to assist me in providing exceptional patient care every step of the way.
Professional Affiliations and Continuing Education
I am an active member of the:
- American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Alabama Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
These organizations offer numerous avenues for professional growth through continuing education (CE). A lifelong learner, I regularly participate in CE courses in anesthesia, dental implantology, dentoalveolar surgery, pathology, and trauma surgery. Staying current on new methodologies, and the latest research and trends, is critical: it allows me to treat patients with the most up-to-date procedures and skills available.
Each and every patient deserves the best care I can provide. CE empowers me to deliver it.
